Growing entrepreneurship in the Eastern Cape
Our approach to developing entrepreneurs in the province is informed by the provincial-wide need to promote the use of ICT and film to effect positive social change, socio-economic development, employment creation and poverty eradication, through providing business development support, mentorship, infrastructure and promoting entrepreneurship.
The Global Information Technology Report 2010-2011 points to the ability of information technology to transform society by enabling innovation, improving productivity and connecting people and communities. It acknowledges that technology is a precondition for enhanced competitiveness, economic and societal modernisation and for bridging economic and social divides crucial for reducing poverty.
In response to the provincial need for developing sustainable technology-enabled businesses and within the context of global trends, ECITI’s incubation programme creates a conducive environment for sustainable entrepreneurship development.
