Eastern Cape Information Technology Initiative
Present your business to ECITI by submitting an application. The form helps us understand your needs. Download the application form.
If your business meets our application requirements, you will be contacted to schedule a face-to-face meeting (Step 2).
If your business meets the preliminary requirements, you will be contacted for an interview so that we can better understand your business idea (if at concept stage) or operational issues of your business (if already established). The interview will be conducted by our staff. If your application passes the screening interview, we will contact you to schedule an admission interview (Step 3).
Businesses that are declined at this point will be entered into the ECITI database and invited to workshops which are open to businesses outside the incubation programme. These businesses also receive recommendations to revisit the concept and re-submit the application at a later date. Declined applicants may also be referred to other development agencies such as the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, Khula Enterprise Finance, National Youth Development Agency and Technology Innovation Agency.
The interview will be conducted by ECITI and external industry experts. At the interview, the applicant will also be given an overview of ECITI’s expectations and requirements.
A start-up may enter or leave at any stage, or progress through all three phases. The movement between the phases is determined by incubator management and depends on the development level of the business at that time.
Businesses that meet all the requirements will receive an acceptance letter from ECITI and will be required to attend an induction programme so that the contract with ECITI’s incubation programme is formalised.
Businesses that are declined will be informed of other business support services provided by ECITI and other enterprise development agencies such as the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, Khula Enterprise Finance, National Youth Development Agency and Technology Innovation Agency.
We are looking for committed entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, with a willingness to learn and accept our support. If you have any questions about your business eligibility, please contact us.
